The purpose of the lubricant in punching and deep drawing is to reduce friction between the metal workpiece and the tooling. This helps to prevent galling, scoring, and excessive wear on the tooling, as well as reducing the force required for the metal to flow into the desired shape. Additionally, the lubricant can help improve the surface finish of the formed part and reduce the likelihood of cracking or tearing during the forming process. Overall, the lubricant plays a crucial role in improving the efficiency and quality of the punching and deep drawing processes. **
